Origin
Crushing Records. began in 2026, in a detached garage on the south side of Ventura. One person. Four walls. A concrete floor. A stack of records that needed a home.
There was no industry grievance behind it. No scene we were trying to escape, no manifesto we were nailing to anyone's door. Just a quiet desire to build something from the ground up — a place where good music could live together, regardless of where it came from.
We don't know what the future holds. We don't know where we are going. But we know we need to start.
Approach
The sound leans atmospheric — shoegaze, dream pop, hushed and reverb-heavy things — with a West Coast tilt. Sun-bleached, salt-corroded, recorded close to the Pacific.
We work in editions of 300 to 1,000. Every record is mastered for vinyl, pressed at Gotta Groove or Furnace, and packaged in heavyweight tip-on jackets. No streaming-first releases, no shrinkflated jackets, no perfume samples in the gatefold.
Royalties are 50/50 after recoupment of pressing and mastering. Contracts are two pages. Artists keep their masters.
People
The label is run anonymously. No names on the masthead, no founder photo, no LinkedIn. The records do the talking; the people behind them prefer the back row.
Mailing address in Contact. The garage door is usually closed.
